Test and publish changes to a call flow
Test draft changes with variables, publish them, or discard them with the correct header controls.

In the standard call-flow editor, changes are saved as a draft while you work. Calls keep using the published version until you publish.
For advanced node flows, most Global settings apply immediately; only the diagram and Flow Behavior wait for publishing. See Global settings in an advanced call flow.
Test your draft
- Make your change and wait for the indicator beside the flow's status to read that it's saved.
- If the agent uses variables, click ⋯ in the Test panel, then Set test variables, and enter values to test with. These values are only used for testing.
- To choose which greeting plays, use ⋯ and simulate an inbound or outbound call.
- Click Start test call for a voice test, or Test by text instead for a written one.
Test calls use your draft. Real phone calls use the published version, so a change you haven't published won't show up on a real call.
Transfers can't be tested in a browser call — test those by calling the number from a phone.
Publish
- Click Publish Changes in the header.
- Confirm in the dialog.
- Check the flow's badge now shows it's live.
Discard a draft
Clicking the discard icon in the header reverts to the live version immediately — there's no confirmation step, and the draft can't be recovered afterwards. If you only want to remove some staged changes, use the option inside the publish dialog instead.
Version history
Open version history from the clock icon in the header to see earlier versions of the flow.
